Nothing but a flip-side Fancy Dark of The Pigeon Pool

Pigeon girl & boy
Flip-flap their feathers, mad from joy
Within a cool
& moon-lit pool.
Erelong they see:
He broods in me! —
That falter’d fool I am —
Who dares not join them;
Hence, with captivating glance,
Depriving me of any chance
To cage them in a photograph,
They keenly quaff
Their final sip,
& with a flappy flop
They flip
Up ’gainst an edge;
& when my glance once more they catch,
They stare with eyes a-pop
Adown
& watch me drown.
